About The Photographer Himself
Alain Laboile is a French photographer and a father of six. Yes, six amazing kids – who documents his life by taking beautiful photos of his family doing what they love best.
Alain bought his first camera when he had to put together a portfolio of his sculptures and since then has developed a passion for photography.
Having started with macro photography, Alain later started focussing his photography interests in documenting the life of his kids and his family as he feels that the photos will be a testimony of their childhood and an inheritance that will be passed on to his children.
They also depict his way of life.
About Alain’s Beautiful Photography Work
Alain’s compositions are unique and beautiful and his choice of photography is to shoot in black and white to give his photographs a classic feel.
He has also documented the life of his family by capturing their reflections in a pond in the project ‘Réflexion Autour du Bassin‘ which clearly depicts the unique way in which he sees his family life and celebrates the life around him.
Alain’s work has been exhibited around the world and he describes his family’s life as a typical where his children explore the rural areas in their day to day life as opposed to the life of other western families in urban settings these days.
His work is one of a true inspiration and I think is the best gift that parents could give their children; their childhood memories!
When asked if Alain wanted to say anything about his work, this is what he said:
“I’m a father of six. Through my photographic work, I celebrate and document my family life: a life on the edge of the world, where temporality and the universality of childhood meet.”
“Day to day I create a family album that constitutes a legacy that I will pass on to my children. My work reflects our way of life, revolving around their childhood. My photographs will be the testimony of that.”
“In a way, my approach can be considered similar to the one of an ethnologist. Though my work is deeply personal, it is also accessible, addressing human nature and allowing the viewer to enter my world and reflect on their own childhood.”
“Fed every day and shared with the world via the internet, my photographic production has become a mean of communication, leading to a questioning about freedom, nudity, being and having.”
Alain has also published a few books and his most recent one is ‘At the Edge of the World.’ If you are inspired by Alain’s work, you may want to have a look at more of his projects on the links below:

Summary
This collection of stunning images really does capture Alain’s seemingly crazy family life, with kids having the best times, just being kids! These photos show what having a camera available to document at perhaps unlikely locations, that it really is possible to create beautiful and emotional family images from a totally new creative angle.
The thought and timing gone into each and every one of these images has clearly demonstrated an emotional and charismatic Black and White collection, which to me, really depicts both wonderful stories and precious moments in time…
