The only problem with rumors is that they sometimes prove to be true.
And if the new Fujifilm X-T3 specs pan out then we could have quite a piece of kit on our hands, or an utter market failure and disappointment – depending on who you ask.
Nonetheless, let’s add some grist to rumor mill and talk about Fujifilm’s planned photokina spectacle.
When it comes to the debut of a new product, nothing quite stirs the excitement like a big debut at an industry trade show and that is the route Fujifilm will be pursuing with its new X-T3 camera if rumors are to be trusted.

Debuting at photokina this September 2018, Fujifilm’s new X-T3 will have a 26-megapixel stacked sensor that “allows a super-fast sensor readout and hence extremely fast AF measurements, blackout-less EVF almost no rolling shutter and more” according to Fujirumors.
Fujirumors also believes the camera will use the same stacked sensor technology as the Sony A9 but the site also cautions to “take that with a grain of salt.”
In addition to the above, it will also have a new X processor. Previous rumors have indicated that the Fujifilm X-T3 will not have in-body image stabilization (IBIS). Some users have bemoaned the camera’s lack of IBIS, a feature found on the new Fujifilm X-H1.
As for when the camera will drop to retail, reports on Fujirumors indicate its September photokina debut will be followed by a November or possibly even October retail release. This would position it in time for the critical holiday season in many markets, a deadline that most manufacturers strive to meet every year when it comes to releasing new gear.
This year’s photokina will begin on September 25 and end on September 30. It will be held at the Koelnmesse, Cologne, Germany. photokina is known as the “world's leading trade fair for photo, video, and imaging” according to its website.
