Adobe Premiere Might Be Breaking the Speakers in MacBook Pros

Adobe software and Apple computers typically go together like bread and butter.

But reports are indicating that something might be spoiled in Adobe’s latest batch of spread because MacBook Pro owners are saying that the company’s Premiere software is busting the speakers in their computers.

There are a couple of questions here. First, how does Adobe Premiere break the speakers on a MacBook Pro and, second, has Adobe acknowledged this issue?

Reports on MacRumors say that users who run Adobe Premiere Pro CC to edit audio or video are experiencing a devastating feedback loop that is destroying the laptop’s speakers. This sound is generated while the user edits audio or video clips according to FStoppers.

MacRumors quotes one user who wrote, “I was using the Adobe Premiere 2019 Audio suite for background sound and while tweaking the settings it made a loud distorted noise that hurt even my ears…After that my speakers are unusable.”

Messages about the problem have since spread to Adobe’s own support forums though, as of press, the company hasn’t officially acknowledged it as an issue yet.

Apparently, the issue started creeping up way back in November 2018.

What could have been nothing more than an isolated incident has since persisted as a customer issue through January 2019, prompting many to speculate that something might be going on with the software.

FStoppers quotes forum user stevens12150610 who was told by Adobe support the following: “Adobe had me check the audio hardware settings. Under the default input [Preferences > Audio Hardware > Default Input] they changed it from Mac microphone to no input. They said that was why I blew my speakers.”

So, how much does it cost to repair the speakers on a MacBook Pro? One estimate offered up by MacRumors has a user by the name of Shen who says he was asked to fork over some $600 to fix his laptop’s speakers. Yikes.
