If you’ve waited long enough for Canon to debut its second full-frame mirrorless camera, then today is your lucky day.
Not only has Nokishita posted pictures of the Canon EOS RP, but the website has also shared some specs about Canon’s upcoming device.

For Canon fans, this is a big deal and, for the rest of us, it’s significant as well because it is proof positive that the mirrorless segment is growing as reports have indicated.
Right off the bat, people will notice that the EOS RP is actually smaller than the EOS R.
The second thing that they will notice is that the EOS RP’s form factor is pretty much the same, in terms of design, as the EOS R.
So what, exactly, makes the EOS RP different from its corporate sibling.
First, Nokishita and PetaPixel are reporting that the EOS RP will come with a “26.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF and a DIGIC 8 image processor.”
It will also have 5fps of continuous shooting, 100-40000 ISO that can go up to 50-102400, and OLED viewfinder, a three inch LCD touchscreen, DLO in camera, RAW development in the camera, C-RAW compatibility, and a dual sensing IS per PetaPixel’s report.
The EOS RP also deletes the Multifunction Touch Bar found on the EOS R.
As far as market positioning goes, the EOS RP will be beneath the EOS R. Many think its arrival presages that of the rumored 100MP IBIS beast that Canon is reportedly planning. Obviously, this model would occupy the top level of Canon’s full-frame mirrorless camera food chain.
