Valentine’s Day makes everyone act a little crazy. Couples can be particularly batty.
But absolutely nothing explains what is going on in this next story.
Utah photographer Thomas Shea was arrested for arson and criminal trespass after he initially told officers that he found a house on fire and called them to put it out.
Turns out, Shea had set fire to the house on Valentine's Day with three separate blazes as part of a photoshoot he was taking at the site. He was able to put out two of the fires but he didn’t succeed in putting out the third which not only burned off his hair and eyebrows but also melted his coat.
As to why he was setting fires to a random house for a photo shoot, the mystery is still out there. Shea admitted to setting the fires intentionally after the investigators found evidence of arson.
Local news agency KSL reports that, “Shea stated he mounted his cellphone on a tripod to video him lighting the fires. Shea said he lit two fires in the residence and put the fires out with the fire extinguisher. Shea stated he lit a third fire in the residence and the fire got out of control.”
FStoppers reports that the fire caused some $USD 5,000 in damage to the house.
So, what do you think about this bizarre story?
What do you think the photographer was trying to achieve by setting not one but three separate fires?
Do you have any similarly crazy stories or experiences of photoshoots gone awry?
