Photofocus 2020 Happening As Scheduled

Pretty much everything is canceled this year, but one show is going to stick it out.

Photofocus 2020 isn’t letting the COVID-19 pandemic hold them back this fall and their NYC show could end up being the biggest of the year because of it.
Taking place this October 22nd through the 24th in New York City, the admins behind the event promise to follow all of the best health guidelines while holding the show. How that will be done in person is probably another question of logistics entirely but it looks like they’re taking it seriously.
NYC Photofocus 2020 show director Joe Kowalsky said of the planned event, “Between now and October we’ll continue to take our cues from the state of New York and work hand in hand with the Javits Center to ensure safety protocols are put in place for our attendees, vendors and staff.”
Photofocus 2020 could be a breath of fresh air this fall – or a reminder of how dire things are becoming. As we reported yesterday, companies like Nikon are posting losses and it is expected that the novel coronavirus and its full economic impact won’t likely be understood for some time.
We also have to stress that the announcement that the event would happen this fall did arrive as a shock in multiple ways. For one, as Photofocus.com points out, New York City is one of the centers of the pandemic and has the highest number of cases in the United States. Perhaps things will have cleared up by this fall in order for the show to be held safely.

“Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.” — Unknown
