Wer war Charles Clyde Ebbets?

„Mittagspause auf dem Wolkenkratzer“ ist eines der bekanntesten Fotos des 20. Jahrhunderts. Es zeigt elf Bauarbeiter auf einem Stahlträger des Rockefeller Centers, die in höchster Höhe über New York sitzen. Jeder von ihnen hält eine Brotdose oder ein Getränk in der Hand und tut so, als wäre es das Normalste der Welt, scheinbar ungesichert in etwa 250 Metern Höhe zu sitzen, um Pause zu machen.
