Week after week, we state that “photography has the power of lightening up our daily lives,“; and what a wonderful way of kick-starting our frantic routines by diving into some beautiful images in the comfort of our seats!
For those who ever wondered how photographic cameras were capable of capturing ghost-like images? Then this collection of images is for you! Back in the days of film, this effect was achieved on camera by mechanically stopping the film while loading the shutter. Nowadays, we have digital technology aiding us in achieving this fantastic result. Here's our curation from Tersha's 658th challenge, this time on double exposure!
Photo Of The Week – September 4th, 2023
This time POTW goes to @patrickw and his bold and creative double exposure.
The shot is powerful in so many ways – the composition, the sense of movement, the B&W processing, the minimalism – everything comes together perfectly!
Congrats, Patrick.
What Are Our Members Up To?
Pour some coffee or tea and enjoy these multiple-exposure photographs!
Like taken from an authentic film noir… Beautiful!
Whoa! What a trippy effect! It feels like being dizzy for real! Simply elegant.
The feeling this wonderful piece of visual work produces is pretty unexplainable…
Gorgeous as well!
“The Brisbane Wheel”
According to Elin, perhaps she made a little cheat, “triple exposure.”
“Big bug shot!”
Fantastic shot thanks to hiking, “double exposure in camera”!
“Is this yours ..”
Never forget that self-portraiture is way more interesting than selfies, don't you think?
Mastering on-camera double exposure is a fun ride, “an oldie.”
One of photography's most humble features is the capability of registering the visual realm in ways our brains can't render to us. Capturing the world in all its temporal complexity is one of the grandest gifts our beloved craft has given to us human beings.
“A tortured soul”
Mother nature staring at us…
“Some turkeys stopped by for a visit”
