Samsung S24 Family Possibly Launching January 17th

What better way to ring in the New Year than with some new high-end smartphones?

That’s the plan at Samsung and we couldn’t be more excited. While it might have been ideal to get this out in the market before the holiday shopping rush, later is better than never.

Rumors indicate that the company will be launching its new S24 family of phones this January 17th or in a couple of weeks.

And, as expected, they’re going to come with a raft of new features, chief among them (at least for our purposes) being the new, more powerful cameras.

Screen sizes come in at 6.2 inches for the entry-level phone to 6.7 and 6.8 for the top-tier models. All of them are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, The Verge reports, although the website also indicates that outside of the China, US, and Canadian markets, the phone might use Samsung’s own Exynos 2400. The entry-level and mid-tier S24 will feature 50MP sensor while the Ultra will reportedly sport a 200MP sensor. Other details from The Verge on the camera set up for each line includes, “one 50-megapixel with a 5x optical zoom (which can reportedly be cropped to offer 10x zoom) and one 10-megapixel with 3x optical zoom. All three phones are rumored to have 12-megapixel ultrawides and 12-megapixel selfie cameras.”

In terms of design, they look like a natural evolution of the current generation which isn’t surprising given the way smartphones tend to build upon one another from season to season. We also want to give a shout out to the industry’s latest fascination in the form of AI and while these features weren’t front and center here we expect that will be the case in the successor to the S24.

Any recommendations you might have as far as smartphones and smartphone cameras are welcome in the comments. We’d also like to hear your thoughts on Samsung’s upcoming S24 lineup if you care to share.
