Our craving for nature is extremely obvious, and if you don't believe then just take a look at all our human efforts at having at least a splash of green inside our homes.

Gardens are an extremely important element of society at large and small scales. Even though there are indoor and outdoor gardens, there is a single element that unites them all – that amazingly serene color green!

Today we bring you a beautiful selection of images that demonstrate how humanity lives with nature, and also how desperate we are for controlling a tiny bit of nature by bringing it inside our lives.

Sit back and enjoy these 55 gorgeous photographs of gardens, and please while you do so, consider the beauty of our planet.

The first thing you notice about these gorgeous gardens is the color…simply amazing. But how do you get the best use of color in your compositions?

Composing In Color Requires Understanding The Color Wheel

The color wheel starts out with the prime colors. There are several color wheels out there, but since we are working with screens (on computers and cameras) you should keep things simple and just go for the RGB (red, green, blue) wheel.

When opposing colors meet in a single composition, contrast is achieved in the most magnificent ways. When adjacent colors – like an array of warm or cold tones are together without an opposing hue – low levels of contrast are achieved.

Creatively selecting color when composing your images will take them to the next level. It is definitely an advanced composition technique that you should work with.

“Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.” — Unknown
