Verschwommene Bilder, schemenhafte Erinnerungen, zarte Imagination, eine dunkle Ahnung, eine beunruhigende Stille, ein Gefühl, ein Aufblitzen von erinnerten Emotionen, das Aufsteigen eines vergessen geglaubten Traums – „past is a real virtuality“ deutet Geschehendes an: Erlebtes, Erzähltes, Erdachtes, Fantasiertes und Verdrängtes verschwimmen. Erinnerung hinterlässt einen melancholischen Beigeschmack.
Wie real ist das Erinnerte wirklich? Was wäre gewesen, wenn? Was ist selektiv, was dazu erdacht? Und ist es deswegen weniger real? „Past is a real virtuality“ lässt die Betrachter*innen im Ungewissen und überlässt sie ihrer Ahnung.
