One topic that is of endless fascination to those not into photography and videography is just how expensive gear can be.

As this story illustrates, it’s not only extremely expensive but you could easily fit $USD 100,000 of it in a couple of bags.
And that’s only an initial estimate from LA-area studio owner Peter Cole who is still not certain about how much the thieves may have taken from his space in a warehouse that houses creatives like himself.
But there is one thing we are sure about and that is what these guys look like because it was all caught on camera.
The building is accessed through a key-coded entryway which the thieves appeared to know. From there, they used a crowbar to open up Cole’s studio and run off with the goods.
All throughout this the pair made little effort to conceal their identities which is what gives us these beautifully clear videos that you can view by clicking here and here.
In an interview with PetaPixel, Cole said, “They took a Phantom Flex4K (serial #20089), which had a 2TB CineMag in it (serial #20090). They also took a Sony a7R II and a bunch of Canon and Sigma DSLR lenses, which varied from vintage FD lenses to modern prime lenses. I’m still figuring out what all is missing.”
As you can tell from the videos above, the thieves are pretty identifiable. That’s why everyone is trying to get the word out about this story because no one wants their stuff stolen.
