Meet the New Full-Frame Mirrorless Nikon Z5 Camera

Nikon’s new full-frame mirrorless camera, the Z5, is being aimed squarely at the entry-level market and, more specifically, creators.

You know, people who make a living streaming, Instagramming, and things along those lines. That’s great, but the Z5 also looks like a pretty awesome camera in general but we will let you be the judge of that.

So what have we got on tap here?

We’ve got a 24.3-megapixel CMOS sensor with a max ISO of 51200 that can go up to 102400, and an EXPEED 6 image processor capable of continuous shooting at 4.5 fps with full AF/AE. There’s also a 3.6-million-dot Quad-VGA electronic viewfinder, autofocus tracking with 273 on-sensor AF points, and Eye Detection AF. The Z5 also has 5-axis VR (Vibration Reduction), dual SD (UHS-II) card support, and a 3.2-inch tilting LCD screen on the back with touch, tap, and pinch support, PetaPixel reports.

If any of this sounds good to you, you won’t have to wait for very long to get your hands on a Nikon Z5. Releasing this August, the Z5 is going to be $USD 1,400 or two bundles that include a new NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 at $USD 1,700 and a NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR for $USD 2,200.

The lens in focus

“Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.” — Unknown
