The news at the end of last month that Canon was discontinuing some of its lenses was not that well-received but what are you going to do.
Well, reports indicate that, if you’re Canon, you might want to just get all of the painful stuff over at once because the company just added a bunch of other lenses to the list of canceled products.
We do have to say though that none of this is confirmed. As PetaPixel reports, getting confirmation from Canon on this is proving difficult but, given the sources supporting this news, we can discard that grain of salt somewhat.
Reports indicate that these products are still on sale in some places and will remain in the retail pipelines until the current stock sells through.
The lenses slated for cancelation include the list we reported before: EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, EF 14mm f/2.8L USM, EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM Macro, EF-S 35mm f/2.8 IS STM Macro, EF-S 55-250mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM, EF 135mm f/2L USM, and the EF 180mm f/3.5L USM Macro.
And a few more disappearing by the end of 2021: EF 35mm f/2 IS USM, EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM II, EF 400mm f/4 DO IS USM II, and the EF 500mm f/4L IS USM II.
