Canon Professional Services Introduces Next-Day Repairs for Platinum Members

Canon knows how to take care of its photographers, especially those with deep pockets. Canon’s customer-centric Canon Professional Services is continuing its innovative history with the introduction of next-day repair services for Canon Professional Services (CPS) members in the platinum tier.

Keeping it simple, once a repair quote is approved, the owner ships the equipment to Canon to be repaired the following business day. If the member’s equipment repair takes longer than that business day, Canon will issue a piece of loaner equipment.

How’s that for customer service?

Almost a Rolls-Royce level of catering compared to many other consumer products.

So, how do photographers get in on this platinum-level CPS goodness?

According to press from Canon, “Canon Professional Services (CPS) provides exceptional support for full-time imaging professionals. Our focus on delivering speed and quality service to pros is now sharper than ever. With Next Day Service, CPS Platinum members can now rely on our best service yet.”

The Canon Professional Services membership system is a points-based, tier-grade group composed of customers who purchase Canon equipment, each piece bearing a different number of points applicable to a member’s classification within the membership services levels offered by CPS.

There are currently four levels to the CPS membership system: silver, gold, platinum, and Cinema.

Silver is free and anyone with only 10 points in Canon gear can join, while the higher the tiers get, the more expensive the gear and each comes with a membership fee. The higher levels of Canon Professional Services are intended for photography and videography professionals, but, again, is open to people who purchase a lot in Canon gear.

According to Canon, “Platinum Membership is an exclusive program designed to support the unique needs and demands of the veteran imaging professional. Platinum members enjoy top-level priority and personalized support that only our professional staff can deliver. These benefits include repair discounts with two-day turnaround, priority access to Repair Coverage Loans and Equipment Evaluation Loans, on-site support at select events and shows, and much more.”

Just in case you were wondering – platinum level membership has an annual membership fee of $300, barring entry to all but the most dedicated Canon equipment users.

Canon will launch the service at the New York City Photo Plus Expo, running October 25 through October 28, 2017. The company plans on introducing the service alongside a bevy of exciting new products.

“Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.” — Unknown
