The color tones are all in the blue palette, adding a coolness and certain drama to this mesmerizing shot.

French Canal – Strasbourg, France – Len Saltiel whisks us away to a quaint community in France that features lovely canals lined with old houses and buildings. The incredible character that can only be found in these distinctly European towns and cities makes for great photography opportunities as we see here in this great shot.

Gaudí's Beach – this amazing seascape shot was created by David Alvarez Velicia who captured this scene just north of Spain. Fascinating rock formations come out of the rolling waters in this great shot, and the formation in the front creates a great frame from which to view the entire scene through.

Mountain sunset – the rugged mountains of Alaska make for terrific photography subjects as Ron Niebrugge shows us with this shot. Ron’s image features a vibrant sunset in the sky that creates a dramatic silhouette of the mountain range in the distance, creating a nature based abstract that exudes beauty and drama.

Connection – Adnan Bubalo visits Norway for this shot that features a bridge connecting two land masses. Adnan uses a long exposure to capture this image, turning the dynamic waters into a silky and ethereal presence in the image that adds a great feel.

The 66 Diner – Jim Nix travels the famous highway commonly referred to as Route 66 and visits a well-known diner just as the sun begins to set. The neon signs of the terrific old diner coupled with the art-deco retro architectural styling helps to create an image that transports us back in time by at least 50 years.

Moscow City – Daria Klepikova captures a terrific cityscape shot of the bustling city of Moscow in the evening, and then processes the shot with a cinematic feel to it. The vast city comes to life in this image showcasing the dramatic contemporary architecture of the city center along with the surrounding buildings for context.

Archaeological Notes – while working in the field, west coast photographer Ehpem notes that shadows cast across his notebook creates interesting shapes and designs against the colors of the surface. This shot is a terrific example of finding natural abstracts in shadows.

Vatican spiral staircase – intricate details merge with wonderful elements in this abstract shot from Manjik photography that focuses on a winding staircase. The lights that illuminate the staircase find great harmony with the smooth and sweeping lines of the staircase to draw you into the frame.

Terminal Decline – LensScaper (Andy Hooker) shares a dramatic and evocative shot of a glacier in the Swiss Alps that is going through significant changes due to climate change. This image features a tight frame of a section of the glacier, revealing lines and textures through the various fractures as the glacier goes through a process of change due to melting.

Light Edges – incredible depth in found in the myriad layers of mountains in this wonderful landscape shot from Kilian Schönberger. Perfect natural light streams in and plays with the mountains to create great shadows and context, finishing off this beautiful perspective perfectly.

sentinels in the autumn forest – Frank King shares a great shot that uses a tight frame of a section of forest in the heart of autumn. The beautiful colors of the fall foliage work with a pair of evergreen trees that stand tall in the middle of the grove creating a splash of green in the middle of all the color.

Brooklyn Bridge – David Abbs delivers a very colorful piece with this image taken at a very low perspective on the deck of the Brooklyn Bridge. With this composition we find that many different leading lines are created by various architectural elements of the bridge, drawing you into the picture where a terrific vanishing point leads off into the distance.

Rocky Mt. Storm – a brooding storm hangs over the majestic mountains in Colorado, and Michael Criswell takes full advantage of the lingering drama to create a terrific black-and-white landscape shot. The snow-capped mountains in this shot work in wonderful harmony with the storm clouds to create a sense of drama and peaceful beauty within the frame.

Blue Hour in Prague – all the elegance and history of the city of Prague comes to full life in this great shot from Jason Row. In this picture we see an old stone bridge covered in lights leading you into the distance where the classic architecture of this wonderful city is explored under the cover of a colorful sky captured during the blue hour.

Tucked in for the Night – as the last moments of sunset slowly give way to dusk, incredible colors dance across the sky in this beautiful photograph by Barbara Youngelson. The low tide creates interesting textures on the shore and in the distance a fishing boat sits moored, creating a terrific silhouette.

Egyptian Vulture – crisp details in the feathers and face of this amazing bird are shown in this shot of an Egyptian Vulture in flight by Murat Çalışkan. The depth-of-focus used to create this image does a perfect job of isolating this majestic bird from it’s backdrop, making it really stand out.
