The Beauty of the Barren: 24 Captivating Landscape Photos

Deserts get a bad rap. People like sand, but most people only like the sand found on beaches. No one likes the desert. Deserts are hot and barren, so it’s understandable why they don’t usually make the top ten vacation destinations.

Deserts do, however, present a great deal of visual intrigue; they may be somewhat of an afterthought for some landscape photographers, but you would be hard-pressed to find such uniqueness of textures, geometry, and natural formations as you will in a desert.

Don’t believe me? I think the following photographs speak for themselves.

We love landscape photography here at Light Stalking and so we pulled together a fantastic resource page just on Landscape Photography. We really feel that it is helpful to find all these resources in one place and we hope it ensures you to become a great landscape photographer.

This gallery of barren landscapes is stunning and we hope you've enjoyed it and it has given you inspiration. If you are looking to elevate your landscape photography then do check out Kent DuFault's The Complete Landscape Photography Guide

It is a comprehensive guide with illustrations that give you the visuals to help you grasp the concepts of great landscape photography. Also, there are assignments that will help you put your learnings into practice. We think it is great
