San Diego parks might not be the safest places for photography these days.
After all, this is only the second robbery story in a week that we’ve published about a photographer in San Diego getting robbed in and around a park.
This one isn’t as novel as the other, but it is more violent.
A photographer in Chicano Park was reportedly targeted by robbers and was shot during the session, PetaPixel reports.
The photographer and another man were approached by six late teens to early twenties divided equally between males and females on Saturday around 6:49 PM according to FOX 5. When the group attempted to steal the camera gear, the two men fought back and were shot during the melee.
San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims told FOX 5, “A struggle ensued and during the struggle, one of the male suspects pulled out a gun and shot multiple rounds at the victims.”
The 24-year-old man was shot in the lower abdomen and taken to a hospital where he is in stable condition and expected to survive. The other man received nothing more than a bloodied lip. Interestingly, this incident happened only one day after the other we reported on and both stories involved a black Honda and multiple robbers.
