Arabische Straße – Sehnsuchtsort Sonnenallee

„Salam aleikum“ lautet die arabische Grußformel, die viele Türen öffnet. Auch auf der Sonnenallee helfen ein paar Brocken Arabisch, um Zugang zu finden zu Schischabars, libanesischen Kaffeehäusern und syrischen Konditoreien. Gut ein Jahr lang habe ich das arabische Leben auf der berühmt-berüchtigten Magistrale in Neukölln fotografiert – und dabei einiges über die Fotografie und meine Nachbarschaft gelernt.
